In October 2024, we embarked on an exciting new initiative with Western Illinois University and Mapping & Planning the Future of your Community, aimed at revitalizing our beloved community through strategic visioning and planning. Every member of the community was invited to participate in a series of meetings and workshops to share their ideas, concerns, and aspirations for the neighborhood. The planning process also involved partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and government agencies. It was an inspiring journey to shape the future of Brooklyn — a journey where every voice mattered, and every contribution counted.
